Note: I haven't forgotten about the London trip log. I've just been lame.
One of the nice things about going places and actually doing touristy things is that I'll be able to go back to NYC and do touristy things as well. Tourism is a skill like any other. It's entirely too easy for me to fall back into the rhythm of feeling like I live there, and following my old routine. While that may be satisfying in its own right, NYC (and Manhattan in specific) has some very special wonderful things that I never saw, as I figured I could always get to them, as they were only a 10-15 walk/subway away. I have a feeling I'm not alone in this tendency. Perhaps even take in a Broadway show. That would be a hell of a thing.
Observation: At a job where one is expected to do anything and everything on a regular basis, being told to focus on one (somewhat interesting) task to the exclusion of all others is actually quite relaxing, at least in as much that it's a change from routine.
