Jun. 19th, 2002 11:01 amI got laid off yesterday.
It was annoying, but not entirely unexpected. The severance package was actually quite decent, and I've secured references. Either it hasn't hit me yet, or it won't hit at all. I called the headhunters about an hour after I found out, and the resume gets dealt with today. "Looking for a job is a full-time job" and all that.
Observation: The useful thing about being slightly paranoid is that you're not shocked when the Bad Thing you've been worried about actually happens, all allusions to target-fixation aside.
Helpful Safety Tip: Beware any legal document that includes the clause "from the beginning of the world until [...]".
