Realization: I just figured out that the horn solo (as well as the rest of) Stevie Wonder's song "Sir Duke" is done in a major pentatonic scale, which is why it's so catchy and so weird at the same time. For some reason, I found this to be an inordinately important thing to figure out. That, and a good 3/4 of the chords in the song are minor. This amused me as well.
