The Warming Of The Stack
Jun. 1st, 2005 08:10 pmI would like to thank all of you who warmed The Stack on the 21st of May, 2005.
The first of you arrived at 4:21pm
The last of you left at 2:11am the next morning.
By the reckoning we did later that morning (with the assistance of our companion Mr. Coffee), there were at least 75 people that were in attendance at some point. At the peak of festivities, there were around 55 of you in rooms, hallways, stairwells and vestibules.
Putting the stats aside, though, you warmed this place. Really. I'm not making this up. This place was different the next morning, and I'm not just talking about the curious arrangement of scuba gear on the side porch. It turned from Yet Another Place We Store Stuff into a home. We opened up the house to all y'all, you came here, you celebrated with us, you mentioned how you liked the paint job, you crowded around the Codex Seraphinianus in the library in the attic, you experienced the Sofa of Extreme Slack, and some of you suggested possible home improvement projects.
Most importantly, you were all here, and we were able to welcome you into our home.
So, thank you.
