Meta: Yes, there will be actual content fairly soon, but I found this amusing.
I just bought a new lens for my digital camera, and I actually decided to read the instructions for once, even though once you're into realm of lenses that are computer-controlled directly from the camera, there's not much to the operation of the lens itself other than "here's the focus ring" and "this side towards enemy".
The instructions are in about 10 different languages, and here's the first (translated) bit of some of them:
English: You are now the proud owner of a the AF Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm
German: We thank you for the confidence you have put in us with your purchase of the AF Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm
Spanish: You are now the new owner of the AF Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm
Italian: Now you can say with pride that you possess a AF Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm
French: You are now the happy owner of the AF Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm
Japanese: (Unclear. Something like "Each time you purchase a lens, another Kitty-Chan gets a mouth. Thank you for thinking of the Kitty-Chans.")
In other news, I'm doing my first concert photography gig this weekend. Scaaaaaaaary. It goes on way past my bedtime, but, well, if you want to take pictures of wildebeests, you have to take pictures on the wildebeests' schedule.
