Pictures from a two week vacation

Back in August, lifecollage and I took two weeks of vacation to the west coast. Among other things, like the Tiki Karaoke Incident, I took a large amount of pictures.

I can tell you're all shocked by this.

Here are the highlights, with a lot more to sort through and post.

They're in chronological order. So, it's Portland up until you see the big trees, then SF until you see the Hare Krishna festival, and then LA from there on out.

I, in fact, did not. Although what would really interest me, is if they somehow managed to get actual fresh mangosteens for sale. Hm. I do believe I'll have to give them a call.

Wow. Where was that fabulous garden?

The one in which I'm standing in the doorway? That's the Portland Classical Chinese Garden, right in the heart of Portland's Chinatown: http://www.portlandchinesegarden.org/home . In the middle of the city, there's this island of tranquility where all but the loudest of city noises drop away. They have an amazing tea house that serves a variety of teas like I've never seen before. He's got a picture of my teacup, which featured a very large, hand-sewn ball of tea leaves and made an astounding tea.

I powerfully recommend going here if you're ever in Portland. Great stuff.
