y ahora, el mundano
Oct. 7th, 2002 10:14 pmObservation: Playing flute with a band-aid on my left thumb is somewhat harder than I expected it would be.
I think I have to cut a corner off of my geek union card. I got into work at 0900, left around 1730, came home at around 1900, had dinner not too long after, and plan to go to sleep somewhere around 2300. I'm finding that I like this schedule. Perhaps the novelty will wear off.
Realization: There is an important difference between "time not at work" and "leisure time". It is similar to the difference between "not empty" and "full".
Lesson Learned: If one is to advance in one's white-collar office-type profession beyond a certain point, one has to understand that in the end, It's Just You. You're the adult; the "grownup in charge of things", and once you take on that role, people will accede you some form of infallibility. You can fake it 'til you make it, but you better fake it well.
