In thirty days
when another set of rights
is finally granted to those who need them
I will remember you.

When the next fight comes
and the push forward seems hopeless
for reasons that I won't know until then

because you are a product of your time
and your world exists as an ordered whole
perfect
and fragile
referenced from the day you were born
and in need of defense from those
who would plunge it into chaos
like me.

I will remember you
and I will forgive
but I will not forget
and I hope
for your sake
that you don't ask me to.
