List: a brief to-do list, considering the events of election day.

  • Become independently wealthy.
  • Subsequently, forget what it was like to work for a living
  • Alternately, become an executive with a lucrative compensation package
  • Buy a huge McMansion-class dreadnought in the suburbs and obsess about the value of my property
  • Invest large amounts of money in energy companies and defense contractors

Am I missing anything?

Stop overestimating people's intelligence perhaps?

  • Marry a trophy wife half your age

Unfortunately, you're failing in that category (J. would not make a good trophy wife).

Get a country club membership (don't forget to shop for plaid trousers and pastel shirts!) so that you can collude, er, network, with all the other consciectomized drones?

Have 2 kids. Divorce, then marry the trophy wife.
Drive the biggest SUV you can find, one which you see advertised climbing pristine mountains, despite the fact that you never drive it anywhere but in Boston rush-hour traffic or down to the Cape.

Don't forget to develop an automatic contempt for your fellow citizens, especially if they are poor. Tell yourself that they are morally responsible for their own poverty. If they were as virtuous as you, surely they'd be rich!

Also, remember to support every hawkish idea that comes from Washington and impugn the patriotism and/or intelligence of anyone who disagrees. If you beat the war drum loud enough, it will drown out all dissenting voices.

Join the Republican party. Enough said.

truly believe that all of your success is due to clever planning and hard work on your part and that luck had absolutely nothing to do with it, and that if other people - regardless of their circumstance - would just work harder, they could end up just like you did. the folks who can't scrape by on their job as a greeter in wal-mart just aren't working hard.
