Resolved: Neal Stephenson's writing can be at least partially described as "Tom Clancy for geeks".

Discuss.

Like Tom Clancy isn't for geeks?
Clancy aims at geeks of warfare and military tech, Stephenson aims at geeks of computers and communications.
It's all technopr0n, Clancy's just goes bang!

I'd agree that both Clancy and Stephenson are both for geeks. Clancy's endings are more satisfying, and Stephenson's writing, in general, has less of a feeling (for me) of reader manipulation. However, as far as geekiness goes, they are both up there.
