The screaming sound you hear....
Jan. 10th, 2002 12:24 am....is the sound of the HEPA air purifier being started up in my room for the first time. It has a bit of catching up to do. I fully expect that the filter will have to be changed a bit sooner than normal, this time around. On the plus side, the room actually smells fresher and cleaner. I'm impressed.
....is the shout of joy from realizing that I finally have proof that going to the gym on a daily basis is doing something beneficial. I am not a small human being. I've used the phrase "larger than life and twice as loud" more than a few times as an adequate description. If I lose a bunch of weight, there will still be plenty of me to love. Tonight after working out is the first time that I realized that I'm shaped ever-so-slightly differently now. Not enough to change the fit of my clothing, but enough so that I know I'm on the right track.
....the yell of celebration that Strictly Ballroom in finally being released on DVD in the US. This makes me indescribably happy for reasons that are beyond the scope of this journal entry.
....the sound of me hollering my fool head off at the first AT&T Broadband rep that would get on the phone with me. On one hand, they're Just Doing Their Job, and me yelling at them isn't going to make it any easier. On the other hand, forcing someone to listen to three minutes (yes, I counted) of "all your questions can be answered on our website at etc. etc. etc." in all its pedantic glory on every single support call I make is a very good way to make me go nonlinear by the time I actually reach a human.
....is the shutdown sound of my laptop as I get ready for bed.
Good night.
